FAQ

How can I help SOS Prairie Rescue?

There are many ways to make a difference.

We are always looking for foster homes, volunteers, donors, transporters, and supporters willing to help cats in need. Whether you can foster a kitten, donate supplies, make a financial contribution, or simply share our posts, every contribution helps us save more lives.

Donations can be dropped off or shipped to:

105 Melville Street
Saskatoon, SK S7J 5A5

We are always grateful for donations of kitten food, cat food, litter, cleaning supplies, and financial contributions to help cover veterinary care. Current priority needs can also be found on our social media channels.

All of our available cats can be found on our Adoptable Cats page. When you find a cat you’re interested in, simply complete an adoption application.

Our team reviews applications carefully to ensure the best match for both the cat and adopter. Please note that submitting an application does not guarantee adoption, and response times may vary depending on volunteer availability and application volume.

We wish we could, but unfortunately the answer is no.

As a foster-based rescue, our ability to help depends entirely on available foster homes, funding, veterinary capacity, and volunteer resources. Every cat you see in our care is only possible because a foster home stepped forward.

When we are unable to intake a cat immediately, it does not mean we do not care. It simply means our resources are currently committed to the cats already relying on us.

If you need assistance rehoming a cat, please complete our surrender request form with as much information as possible.

Our team reviews every request individually and prioritizes cases based on urgency, available foster space, medical needs, and available resources. While we do our best to help whenever possible, we cannot guarantee immediate intake.

If you have found a stray, abandoned, or community cat, please contact us with details about the cat, its location, and any concerns regarding its health or safety.

In some cases, we may be able to provide guidance, resources, or assistance through our community cat programs. Due to the overwhelming need in many Saskatchewan communities, response times and available support may vary.
