SUPPORT OPTIONS
Need help with food or supplies?
Keeping your cat shouldn’t come down to whether you can afford the next bag of food.
If things are tight right now, there may be ways to help you stay together.
Please note: Availability can change, and some programs may offer limited or short-term support. We encourage reaching out directly to confirm current availability.
Saskatchewan SPCA Pet Food Bank
Connects pet owners with food support through community partners across Saskatchewan.
Regina Humane Society Pet Connection
Offers support to help keep pets at home by improving access to food and essential supplies.
Local Food Banks & Community Partners
Some food banks and outreach organizations may offer pet food or help connect you to local pet support programs.
Community & Rescue-Based Support
Local rescues, outreach groups, and community-led efforts may offer short-term help with food and supplies when available.
SHORT-TERM SUPPORT OPTIONS
You don’t have to lose them to get through this.
Sometimes people don’t need a permanent solution — just time.
A move.
A hospital stay.
Leaving a situation that isn’t safe.
A stretch where everything feels uncertain.
These moments happen. And they can happen fast.
Temporary safe keeping may be an option — a way to keep your cat cared for while you figure out what comes next.
If you’re feeling like surrender is your only choice, reach out first.
We may not always have space — but we will always do our best to help you navigate your options.
Reaching out early can open more options.
Sometimes the next step is just reaching out — and that’s enough to start.
Vet Care Support
If your pet needs urgent care, don’t wait — seek help immediately.
Visit the nearest veterinary clinic, emergency hospital, or local humane society as soon as possible.
Early care gives your veterinarian the best chance to assess the situation and guide next steps.
Community Veterinary Outreach
Community Veterinary Outreach (CVO) offers preventive veterinary care, resources and education alongside human health services for individuals and families experiencing homelessness and housing vulnerability.
National Pet Care Fund
The National Pet Care Fund offers financial assistance for urgent and essential veterinary care when pet owners are facing financial barriers.
Support is limited and typically requires an application through your veterinarian.
Good Sumaritan Fund
The Good Samaritan Fund helps cover emergency veterinary care for pets in critical situations when immediate treatment is needed and finances are a barrier.
Availability may vary depending on clinic and location.
Petcard
Petcard is a financing option that allows you to spread the cost of veterinary care over time through monthly payments.
Approval is required, and terms may vary.
Scratch Pay
Scratch Pay offers short-term payment plans for veterinary care, allowing you to manage costs in smaller installments.
Availability in Canada may be limited depending on provider partnerships.
Spay & Neuter Support
Preventative care is one of the most effective ways to reduce suffering and overpopulation — and support may be available.
SURRENDER SUPPORT
Before you make that decision,
take a moment.
Surrender is never a small decision – and you don’t have to face it alone.
With the right support, what feels like the only option right now may not be the only path forward.
Help keep pets with
the people who love them.
Your support makes moments like these possible.
