Carrot Top is a giant grey-and-white sweetheart, estimated to be about 2–3 years old, with the cutest little upside-down white “carrot” blaze on his nose — which is how this otherwise very dignified gentleman ended up with the name Carrot Top.
He came to SOS after being removed from a large hoarding situation in Alberta, where more than 100 cats have been taken from the home since April. With so many cats needing somewhere to go, a small group made their way to Saskatchewan for a fresh start.
When Carrot Top first arrived, he was absolutely terrified. He barely wanted to leave the security of his carrier and needed time to decompress and figure out that this new chapter might actually be a good one.
And wow, has he come around.
Now he’s eager to greet his foster mom and, when things are quiet and he feels safe, he will climb right into her lap and purr and purr. He’s playful, silly, incredibly sweet and very serious about Temptations, Churus and Delectables.
He can still be cautious around strangers and in new situations, so his future family will need to give him a little time to settle in. But once he decides you’re safe, this giant boy is an absolute love.
Carrot Top has already come so far, and we think he’s only going to keep blossoming. Now he’s ready for the best part of his story — a home of his own where he can keep learning just how good life can be.
