Dory is the shy one out of her Siblings, Peach, Marlin and Gill. She'll hop away when I go to cuddle them all in their basket, but I'll pick her up in my arms and she'll be purring real loud as I hug her then place her back on top of her siblings so I can pet them all. So, instinctively she knows that she's safe when she's around me, and likes it when I hug her and pet her, and she'll cuddle me alongside her siblings when they're in bed with me, but she still hops away when the big human walks into the room. She still purrs as loud as her siblings when I lean over them in their basket and pet them and give them all a hug, so she's not as scared of the big human as she thinks she is. Once I start petting her she'll happily accept me scratching her head and letting me hug her for a few minutes.
If you don't already have a cat it would be a good idea to adopt Dory with one of her siblings, so that she has a cat buddy to keep them company. Just contact SOS and you can meet Dory, Peach, Marlin and Gill.
