Kittens under 6 months must be adopted in pairs unless SOS approves a suitable young, social and playful cat already in your home. An older resident cat does not automatically qualify.
Fees at partners outside Saskatchewan may differ. SOS assesses each placement individually.
Meet Lani!
Lani was a shy guy scared and alone on a rural worksite. Through treat bribes and regular food provided by the workers, he continued to observe from afar. Then, one day a switch flipped and Lani decided he was done with outdoor life. He hasn't looked back. Lani underwent a dental surgery to receive all the care he needed and now he is ready for the next chapter with a home of his own!
Lani discovered he quite likes being a house cat. There are regular meals, soft beds, and toys. Turns out, he is also a bit of a cuddle bug! What we didn't expect was that Lani would decide fetch is the game for him! Yes, that is right, our sweet Lani chases after a toy you toss and will bring it back to you. No one taught him this game, he just decided that is what he likes.
Lani has done well with kids, dogs, and cats. He doesn't seem to understand cats behavior though and struggles to make friends with them. He more so coexists. He has done well with dogs that respect his boundaries.
