Mistral and his siblings (Morrow, & Serein) came from a small town in south Saskatchewan called Minton. A concerned resident noticed that their mom had disappeared and the kittens were alone at about 5 weeks old. All three had NO interest at that time in being house kittens sitting on a human lap but it is funny what a fully belly and safety can do to change their minds. It took a matter of days to win them all over and next thing you know they are climbing up your leg just to be held and cuddled in closely. They joined a litter of 5 in their foster home and those kittens helped to show them how delightful being house kittens can be. Food. Toys. A soft bed. Humans to pet them and play with them. Mistral has NOT looked back at being a wild cat.
There is a rumor that Mistral is actually secretly a famous artist. His tail is perfectly dipped with just a touch of white making him ready to use it as a brush to make works of art. This complex soul would be an artist if any of our kittens are! Mistral can still be reserved as he navigates what being a house kitten means but with a quiet confidence rather than timidness. He has learned that toys, wrestling matches, and kitten zoomies are actually a ton of fun! Soft beds especially those that envelop him and his siblings are the best! And sunbeams on a window sill... THE BEST. But now that he has learned to trust humans... that lap is the best place to rest his tired head after a good play session.
Mistral was named after a strong, cold, north wind blowing down to the Mediterranean Sea bringing clear skies. Not because he is a cold cat! Because he came into care with the strength and determination of a much older cat. He was defiant to rescue at the start and determined to stay wild showing how he was surviving on his own leading his siblings. It was quite unbelievable for such a small young kitten but slowly with lick treats and wet food, the skies cleared and a little soft cuddle bug began to emerge. Mistral has this way of sneaking onto the lap and staring up with his big eyes now full of love and innocence as if to say 'hey, I was wrong, this is the good life and I am so happy to be here'. He is filled with an unmatched sweetness and gentleness despite his tough start to life.
Mistral has been around many cats and has done well with all of them. He has been around dogs as well with no concerns. He has not been around kids but because of his nature, it is expected he would do well. Due to his young age, he should be adopted with another one of his siblings or adopted siblings (Morrow, Serein, Home Depot, Peavey Mart, Ikea, Napa Auto Parts, or Co-op Agro).
