Rook came into care named Sniffles because of his chronic congestion and upper respiratory issues. We decided to give him a fresh start with a clean slate so he wasn't destined to be sniffling forever and defined by his snot. The name Rook was chosen for him because when he first arrived in foster care he had a tendency of sitting up high and observing everything. He looked like a bird, specifically a wise bird like a Rook. We think this suits him much better and will give him the freedom to show his intelligence and personality as his sniffles fade away.
Rook is working on his glow up in care. He loves to be brushed and have help get his matted fur back to the elegant shine he deserves. He was reserved at the start but has let his laid back confident demeanor emerge. He has decided the resident cats are all okay and the dogs aren't worthy of his acknowledgment. He just trots on by with a swish of his long tail. He loves the foster kittens and thinks they are entertaining to watch. He now feels confident to ask his foster humans for love or simply likes to sit back and observe them. He has a favorite chair in his foster home and that is known as 'Rook's Rest' when he perches on it.
Rook has not shown us yet if he will be playful or not. We are still learning who he is as he heals. Everyday he is showing us more though and boy do we love who he is! So far we know he is a cuddle bug who purrs the moment he is picked up. He has no cares in the world about other animals around as long as there is a perch for him to observe and there is time for his cuddles.
Rook is available for pre-adoption while he is healing or could be a foster to adopt for the right home.
