Dr. Pepper came into care after being surrendered by her previous owner. She was living with her mom Squishi and brother Stachio Tom. The owner was unable to care for them adequately so made the choice to seek help from the rescue. We suspect she didn't have a lot of contact with people prior so she can be shy and need time to warm up at first.
Dr. Pepper needs her own space at times and respect of her personal boundaries but she is very predictable and tells everyone where he boundaries are! She loves to play with other cats but then is sure to advise when she is done with a little hiss. She gets along well with other cats as long as they respect those boundaries. If she is overwhelmed or her boundaries are not respected she can nip or swat. She has been around kids that approach her calmly and gently and does well with them. We are unsure of how she would do around most dogs but briefly was around one in foster care with no issues.
Dr. Pepper likes to curl up near people and loves her face, ears, and neck to be scratched but is sensitive about her back/backend being pet. She doesn't love to be picked up but tolerates it. Her favorite napping spots are in a cubby on the cat tree or behind the blinds on the window sill. She loves to be able to observe and have these places to climb and explore.
Her foster family say she has the cutest little meow to go with her gorgeous markings and sweet personality. She is looking for a family that will respect her boundaries and help her continue to come out of her shell and blossom!
