It’s impossible not to notice Maurice. With his striking blue eyes, beautiful colouring, and the biggest polydactyl paws you’ve ever seen, he’s a truly unforgettable cat.

Maurice came to SOS Prairie Rescue from a home where more than two dozen cats were living without running water, utilities, or even any litter boxes. Despite everything, he remains one of the gentlest souls we’ve had the privilege of meeting.

He’s a little reserved when meeting new people, but it doesn’t take much to win him over. A soft voice, a few gentle scratches around his cheeks and head, and slow strokes down his back are all it takes before Maurice melts into your hand, quietly asking for more.

One of our favourite memories of Maurice was when he first arrived. Covered in dirt from the conditions he had lived in, he absolutely adored having his face and body cleaned with a warm cloth.

Maurice is a true gentle giant. He’s wonderfully submissive with other cats, happily letting the bossier personalities take charge, and simply enjoys being close to his people. We know that once he leaves the hustle and bustle of a busy foster home, his confidence will continue to grow and his playful, silly side will begin to shine.

After everything he’s been through, Maurice deserves nothing less than a home filled with kindness, patience, and unconditional love. We know his very best days are still ahead of him, and we can’t wait for the lucky family who gets to watch this sweet boy truly blossom.
