Smokey Joe is a sweet old gentleman looking for a soft place to land and someone to share the quiet life with.

When Smokey Joe came into SOS care, he was in need of some TLC, including a much-needed dental that saw him say goodbye to 14 troublesome teeth. Now that he’s feeling better, we’ve had the chance to get to know the gentle, loving guy underneath.

Smokey Joe is quiet, incredibly sweet, and happiest when he can enjoy some one-on-one attention. He loves being brushed, gentle kisses and pets, and even the occasional little neck massage. He has also established a very important morning and evening wet food routine with his foster mom that has become one of his favourite parts of the day.

At night, Smokey Joe desperately wants to be part of the cuddle puddle on the bed. He isn’t one to push his way through a crowd for attention, though, and would love a quieter home where he doesn’t have to compete with too many other animals for his share of affection.

He really doesn’t ask for much. A cozy place to sleep, his favourite routines, a good brushing, and someone with a little extra love to save just for him.

Smokey Joe is ready for his retirement home — somewhere this sweet old gentleman can settle in, be spoiled, and always have a spot waiting for him in the cuddle puddle.
